Welcome to MSTI Maritime Academy! We were established in 1986, marking the inception of Sri Lanka’s first privately owned maritime training school. We have evolved over time to become the country’s premier maritime school. We have modern training complexes set up in Dehiwala, Katukurunda, and Kalutara. We aim to build the future of seafarer training without compromise when it comes to standards.
We have a highly qualified staff of professionals, including Master Mariners and Chief Engineers, along with a wealth of knowledge and experience to offer in our programs. We are proud of our top-of-the-line facilities, including Sri Lanka’s most advanced 360-degree simulator, which simulates actual ship environments and provides our students with an immersive, hands-on experience that prepares them for challenges and adventure on the seas.

History of MSTI
MSTI is proud of its 35 years – plus history of expertise in maritime training and education.
Established in 1986, MSTI is the first private maritime training facility in Sri Lanka. Its German-owned parent company has over 100 years of experience in shipping, while its local parent company has over 25 years of experience in crew management. The wealth of experience is channeled towards providing the best possible training for students. Given that the training facility is equipped with the best technologies and the training is headed by master mariners and chief engineers, a love for seafaring will soon be cultivated. In addition to showcasing an extraordinary amount of experience, MSTI has also upheld German standards in establishing its training facility, which simulates real-ship environments. MSTI is a responsible training partner with training based on market demand, and its well-experienced staff members have an impeccable track record in sailing.
